Date: 09/04/2018

Another year of very strong trade at the Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale, with intense competition for the sought-after lots, and James Harron Bloodstock came away with five quality young prospects, three colts and two fillies.

The three colts were all purchased to run in the green and gold colours of the James Harron Bloodstock Colts group, with both to head into training with Peter and Paul Snowden.

First was lot 2, an outstanding colt consigned by Segenhoe Stud, by Medaglia d’Oro and out of the Group 3 winning Redoute’s Choice mare A Time For Julia for $750,000. Bred by John & Deb Camilleri’s Fairway Thoroughbreds, who also bred Medaglia d’Oro’s Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, this colt is from one an exceptional family, that of South African Champion Sprinter Laisserfaire and high-class sprinter/miler Time Thief.

The other two colts both came on day three, and both from Arrowfield Stud. The first was lot 358, a powerful son of Redoute’s Choice, out of the winning Encosta de Lago mare Silla Regalis for $1,500,000. His dam is a half-sister to the high-class pair of Hong Kong Horse of the Year and multiple G1 winner Silent Witness and Group 2 winning filly Sister Madly, who is also by Redoute’s Choice.

The final colt purchase was lot 368, an athletic and forward son of Not A Single Doubt out of the winning Starcraft mare Star Pupil for $1,050,000. This colt is from the high-class family of Golden Slipper winner Polar Success.

The first filly purchase was lot 310, a quality I Am Invincible filly from stakes-performed Encosta de Lago mare Quench The Thirst for $650,000. She is from Australia’s leading family, that of Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice.

The other filly purchased was lot 348, a filly by the emerging young stallion Pierro and out of the dual stakes placed mare Sense of Hite, consigned by Milburn Creek and secured for $480,000. She is the first foal of her speedy dam, who comes from a very productive black type family, and as a quality, athletic filly, looks a great prospect for her new owners.
