Five for James Harron Bloodstock at the Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale
Once again the strength of the Australian racing and breeding industry was demonstrated with very strong trading at the Inglis Sydney Easter Yearling Sale, with all key sale indicators once again rising. James Harron Bloodstock was successful in purchasing five exceptional young prospects, two colts and three fillies.
The two colts were both purchased to run in the green and gold colours of the James Harron Bloodstock Colts group, and both to go into training with Peter and Paul Snowden. First purchased was lot 65, a strong, forward son of Written Tycoon from Turangga Stud for $1,000,000. He is the first foal of Listed Gimcrack Stakes winner Brilliant Bisc, and being by the same sire as our Breeders’ Plate, Magic Millions and Golden Slipper winner Capitalist, he has the looks and pedigree to run fast and early.
The second was lot 71, an imposing son of I Am Invincible secured for $1,600,000 from Segenhoe Stud. A hugely impressive individual, he is a representative of the I Am Invincible/O’Reilly cross which has produced 2 stakes horses from 2 runners. In addition he is from the great Eight Carat family, that of Octagonal, Commands and Danewin.
Two of the fillies were secured to race in the tartan silks of Belinda Bateman. The first of them was lot 113, a exceptional daughter of Exceed and Excel from Kia Ora Stud, purchased for $800,000. She is a three-quarter sister to Group 2 winning 2YO and Group 1 placed Zululand and out of USA Grade 2 winning sprinter Dream Play, and from a speedy American family.
The second filly for Belinda Bateman was lot 321, a Not a Single Doubt filly secured for $520,000 from Kitchwin Hills. She is the first foal of city-placed O’Reilly mare Royal Sapphire, who is a half-sister to top-class 2YO Twilight Royale and from the good international family of Hong Kong Horse of The Year Designs on Rome and Irish Derby winner Grey Swallow.
The final filly purchase was another from an outstanding International family, lot 255, secured for Ananda Krishnan of Kia Ora Stud. She is a daughter of Golden Slipper winner Sebring and out of a half-sister to outstanding sprinter Starspangledbanner, a Champion sprinter in two hemispheres. This is also the family of G1 Thousand Guineas winner Amicus, outstanding WFA performers Elvstroem and Haradasun and top-class International galloper Highland Reel.
