King's Legacy dominant in Group 1 victory

King’s Legacy wins the Group 1 ATC Inglis Sires’ Produce Stakes

King’s Legacy wins the Group 1 ATC Inglis Sires’ Produce Stakes

The dynasty built up in Australia by Redoute’s Choice is nothing short of extraordinary, and his son King’s Legacy made his own part in that story this weekend when running out a powerful winner of the Group 1 ATC Inglis Sires’ Produce this weekend. It pulled off a bold plan to use the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes a fortnight ago as a lead-up race, with this impressive colt always likely to be perfectly suited to the 1400m here and so it proved.

Under a sensational ride from Hugh Bowman, King’s Legacy settled towards the rear and unleashed a furious rally in the straight to make up many lengths and overhaul Prague in the shadows of the post.

Already a Group 3 winner in December, King’s Legacy has now secured his stud future when the time comes off the back of this sensational effort. With that future in mind he could not have a better pedigree for the job. His sire Redoute’s Choice leads the way in Australia as a sire of sires, with the likes of Not a Single Doubt and Snitzel demonstrating his prowess in that area. Importantly, King’s Legacy is also a three-quarter brother in blood to Not a Single Doubt and from the further family of top-class stallion Snippets.

Thanks as always to trainers Peter and Paul Snowden, and a huge congratulations to owners, Belinda Bateman, Rob Love, Phil & Glenda Mehrten, Fergus Doyle, Steve & Louise Gillard, Gary Diamond, Danny & Pauline Saab, John & Fran Ingham and Jonathan Munz.
