Andronicus powers away at Kembla

Andronicus as a yearling at Segenhoe Stud

After a debut full of promise at Newcastle when getting too far out of his ground, Andronicus confirmed that in no uncertain fashion today at Kembla.

Sitting on pace under Josh Parr, he took a few stride to figure things out, before powering away from his rivals in the final stages to record an impressive victory with top weight.

Andronicus is a son of Champion sire I Am Invincible and is out of Group winner Fireworks, making him a full brother to stakes-winning 2YO Millane. He was bred by John and Deb Camilleri of Fairway Thoroughbreds and was secured for the JHB Colt Partnership at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale from the Segenhoe Stud draft.

Andronicus is an exceptionally good-looking colt and has started his career in lovely fashion. He now heads out for a break and looks a lovely 3YO prospect for the Autumn.

Thanks to jockey Josh Parr, trainers Peter and Paul Snowden and congratulations to owners Belinda Bateman, Rob Love, Fergus Doyle, John & Frances Ingham, Danny & Pauline Saab, John & Deb Camilleri, Gary Diamond, Jean-Dominique and Rianna Huynh, and Rob and Sylvie Crabtree.
