Mexico a class above at Gosford

After a very solid 2YO campaign, which saw him stakes-placed in the $500,000 Inglis Banner at Moonee Valley on debut, Mexico returned today as a 3YO and stamped himself as an exciting prospect with an impressive victory at Gosford.

Settled in behind under jockey James McDonald, Mexico delivered an impressive turn of foot in the short straight to quickly overpower his rivals and win geared down with plenty in hand. This win should provide this speedy colt with plenty of confidence going forward towards the better Spring races.

Mexico was a purchase for the JHB Colt Partnership at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the Newgate Farm draft. Many thanks to trainer Michael Freedman and his team, and congratulations to owners Belinda Bateman, Fergus Doyle, Rob Love, Phil & Glenda Mehrten, Danny & Pauline Saab, John & Frances Ingham, Gary Diamond, Jean-Dominique and Rianna Huyn and Murray Shaw.
